Flux in a Constant State is an ambient guitar based improvisations/timbral fuckery/bast(u)rd brainchild of Matt Hurley.

''Second Flux collection, comprising of material "composed" and recorded from March 2021 on.

As a unit, these songs represent on a musical level a continued move towards self reliance, reconciling strengths and weaknesses, breaking down all dichotomies that have increasingly revealed themselves to me to be bullshit but especially that of the "organic" nature of improvised music and "real" instruments vs. the "coldness" of musical technology and electronics. I'm not the first or most clever to challenge that notion but this is me trying to do it the best of my current ability anyway.

Extra musically, this is without a doubt my "2021 album" (Saeculum I was technically released early this year but most of it was actually recorded in 2020 so I'm happy I managed to sneak this one in barely before the deadline). This was the year we all thought everything was supposed to go "back to normal" only for the enlightened(?) among us to realize maybe "normal" was only a delusion to begin with. Much as Saeculum I was released in hopes I'd be capping off the weirdness of my Covid era life with an abstract document of what was salvagable from it, Saeculum II is me casting off such naivety altogether and just winging it.''
